MINUTES
An Ordinary Meeting of the Parish Council held on Monday 12th December 2021 beginning at 7.15 pm St Peter’s Church High Street Newton
24.01 Those Present.

24.02 Apologies for Absence.
Cllr A. Arden. Having been informed of the reason for his absence Council approved his apologies for absence.
24.03 Declarations of Interest.
None received.
24.04 Approval of the Minutes of the last meeting.
Resolved: That the Minutes of the last meeting, held on Monday 14th November 2022, be approved as a true record.
Proposed. Seconded. Carried unanimously.
24.05 Matters Arising from the Minutes of the Last Meeting.
Not included in this Agenda.
None received.
24.06 Amendments to the Agenda by Resolution.
None received.
24.07 New Build Changing Rooms. Playing Field. Newton |Primary School.
Legal advice is being sought.
24.08 New Village Signs Dunham Road and A1133.
The Clerk will acquire quotations for the next meeting Monday 13th February 2023.
24.09 Signature for Code of Conduct Forms.
Cllr Thompson signed the form which will now go to WLDC.
24.10 Planning.
145781. Land off A1133.
If not developed the land will remain a wasteland.
The development has good access to the A1133 and adequate parking awa y from the High Street.
There is good access for emergency vehicles.
The style of housing will attract the younger element to the village, thus supporting the local Primary School.
The design of the dwellings is compatible with the surrounding existing properties.
Resolved: That if the Planning Officer is minded to refuse the application The Parish Council would ask that the application be called in for further scrutiny.

25.11 It is recommended that the Parish Council use the GOV.UK site for dedicated email addresses.
Resolved: That Council does nit use the GOV.UK address as present arrangements are very similar and considered to be equally as secure.
Proposed. Seconded. Carried unanimously.
25.12 Highways Issues.
Possibility of having the speed limit on the A57 reduced to 50 mph from the speed camera to Dunham Road entrance.
A meeting with Highways should now have taken place. The Clerk will contact Cllr Butroid for a progress report.
25.13 Possible Future Events for the Community.
Councillor E. Thompson. A “Great British Tidy Up” event is planned for Spring 2023.
25.14 Lack of Space for Dog Walkers.
The Clerk will consult with Highways and other contractors for an initial quotation to provide a footpath along the verge of the A57, from Dunham Road, and along the A1133 to the entrance to High Street.
25.15 Play Park.
a. Litter & Litter Bins. Acceptable.
b. Repair to fence panels on the Play Park.
Resolved. That the single quotation from Mr Bean be approved.
Proposed. Seconded. Carried unanimously.
25.16 Health and Safety.
a. Play Park. Contents of the RoSPA Report have been noted.
b. Playing Field. Contents of the RoSPA report have been noted.
25.17 Newton on News.
The question of footpaths 1. around the village. 2. To Laughterton. 3 To Dunham Bridge. Provision of space for a village orchard.

Resolved. That the Financial Statement for November be approved as a true record.

Resolved. That the Clerk’s salary and expenses for November be approved for payment,
Proposed. Seconded. Carried unanimously.
c. Invoices for Payment.

Newton on Trent PCC £20.00
Resolved. That the above expenditure at 25.20.c be approved for payment.
Proposed. Seconded. Caried unanimously.
d. Debit Card. Will be applied for once the Mandate has been approved.
