AN ORDINARY PARISH COUNCIL MEETING
held on Monday 8th July 2024.

105 Apologies for Absence.
Cllr J. Stringer. Ill health. Having been advised of the reason for his absence, Council approved his apologies for absence.
106 Declarations of Interest.
None received.
107 Approval of the Minutes of the last meeting, held on Monday 20TH May 2024.
Resolved. That the Minutes of the last meeting be approved as a true record.
Proposed Cllr Cheetham Seconded Cllr Maddison. Carried unanimously.
108 Matters Arising from the Minutes of the Last meeting not covered in this Agenda.
None received.
109 Amendments to the Agenda by Resolution.
Sign the AGAR Exemption Certificate.
110 Installation New Village Signs.
The signs have been installed.
Consult highways. Replace the missing 30 mph roundels at the junction of High Street with the A1133, and Dunham Road and the A 57.
111 Project on the Playing Field. Newton on Trent Primary School.
Progress Report.
After considering the latest correspondence from the Chairman of Governors the Council, through the Clerk, will inform the Primary School that the Parish Council will continue with the project on a smaller scale in order that toilet and changing room facilities will be available for the school’s use in the future, as well as other users of the Playing Field.
Resolved: That Council continues with the project to provide changing room and toilet facilities on the playing field.
Proposed Cllr Goodacre. Seconded Cllr Arden. Carried unanimously.
Resolved: That a Councillor research designs for a 20’ x 10’ and 20’ x 20’ building. Results to be considered at the September Parish Council meeting.
Proposed Cllr Kopetzki Seconded Cllr Maddison. Carried unanimously.
112 One Earth Solar Projects.
The Parish Council has received a letter from One Earth suggesting that a meeting be organised to discuss the future plans of the proposed development.
Council does not believe that a meeting will achieve anything as the proposed development will not directly affect the village in any material way.
113 Highways Issues. Footpath to Dunham Bridge.
Progress report.
The Clerk is waiting for an LCC Councillor to provide Highways details of verge ownership.
114 Planning.
No planning received.
115 Play Park.
a. Litter & Litter Bins. Acceptable.
b. Play Equipment. No issues reported.
c. Other Matters.
A tree branch is overhanging the roof of Ivy House, Dunham Road.
An inspection has been completed and a quotation for removal of the branch has been received.
Resolved. That the branch should be removed as soon as possible.
Proposed Cllr Goodacre. Seconded Cllr Cheetham. Carried unanimously.
116 Health & Safety.
a. Play Park. No issues reported.
b. Playing Field.
Hedge Trimming. Adjoining A1133.
Advise Continental Landscapes and check that they have it on their schedule for completion each year.
c. Defibrillator. Check the battery condition with Heartbeat. The battery is showing a level of 40% which is slowly falling with each check.
117 Facebook Page.
Possible suggestions for content.
Installation of the New Village Signs.
118 Correspondence.
Old Vicarage. Tree branches are overhanging the pavement and the pathway is now getting very narrow in places. The Clerk will write to the owners requesting that vegetation be cleared from the pathway thereby returning it to its full width, and that works are carried out on the trees to ensure pedestrian safety.
119 Finance.
a. Financial Statement for June 2024.
Resolved. That the Financial Statement for June be approved as a true record.
Proposed Cllr Maddison Seconded Cllr Arden. Carried unanimously.
b. Clerk’s Salary & Expenses June 2024. £198.98
Resolved. That the Clerk’s Salary and Expenses be approved for payment.
Proposed Cllr Spink Seconded Cllr Cheetham. Carried unanimously.
c. Invoices for Payment July 2024.

Resolved. That the expenditure at 119.c. be approved for payment.
Proposed Cllr Arden. Seconded Cllr Maddison. Carried unanimously.
d. Prop Cllr Kopetzki Sec Cllr Cheetham.
Resolved: That Council accept the PFK Littlejohn suggestion of applying an Exemption Certificate for the financial year 2023-2024.
The Certificate has been signed and will be emailed to the auditors as soon as possible.

c. Play Park Trees – Possible trimming/pollarding.
