MINUTES
AN ORDINARY PARISH COUNCIL MEETING
held on Monday 10TH June 2024.
Beginning at7.00 pm.

86    Apologies for Absence.
Cllr Maddison. Having been informed of the reason for her absence, Council approved her apologies for absence
Cllr Kopetzki. No apologies given.

85    Declarations of Interest.
None received.

86    Approval of the Minutes of the last meeting, held on Monday 20TH May 2024.
Resolved.  That the Minutes of the Last Meeting be approved as a true record.
Proposed Cllr Spink.    Seconded Cllr Arden.    Carried unanimously.

87    Matters Arising from the Minutes of the Last meeting not covered in this Agenda.
None received.

88    Amendments to the Agenda by Resolution.
None received.

89    Installation New Village Signs.
Two councillors are to decide on a site which is on the opposite verge to the present 30 mph signs at the junction of High Stret with the A1133.

90    Project on the Playing Field. Newton on Trent Primary School.
Progress Report.
The area which is proposed for the installation of the structure has been assessed by two Councillors. The largest building which can be accommodated is approximately 20 feet square. 
A quotation is to be requested which will be forwarded to the clerk.
Once the quotation has been received, Council will invite the school to a meeting at which Council will put their view of the project.

91    One Earth Solar Projects.
Report. Consultation Saturday 8th June 2024.
One Cllr attended the open meeting Sat 8th June 2024.
Very little feedback has been received from the village, so it is very difficult to formulate any sort of response at the present time.

92    Highways Issues. Footpath to Dunham Bridge.
Progress report.
 Cllr Butroid is to supply a list of the owners of the northern verge, running along the A57 from Dunham Road to Dunham Bridge.
If possible, Council would like to cut back all vegetation along that verge so that a walkable area is created.

93    Planning.
WL/2024/0404. Business to Residential. 6 High Street. Post Office.
Councillors to look at the application online and send comments to the Clerk as soon as possible.

94    Play Park.

Possible suggestions for content.

97    Correspondence.
1.    An untaxed vehicle has been reported, the Clerk will contact the Police.
2.    A resident has asked for a tree branch to be removed as it is; likely to damage her roof in high winds. The Clerk will ask a Tree surgeon to inspect and report back as soon as possible.
3.    A Councillor in a neighbouring Parish has asked for a meeting to discuss aspects of the proposed One Earth Solar Panel development and the purchasing of connections to the National Grid. Council does not think that this is of any concern to Newton on Trent PC.
4.    A resident with direct access to the A1133 has contacted Council concerned that since the new 50 mph speed regulation has been applied to the A57, traffic speeds have increased along the A1133. A possible way forward would be to request a Lincolnshire Road Safety Partnership assessment and possible Archer Test. Clerk will write to the resident and copy in Cllr Butroid of LCC.
5.    The Primary School has contacted Council with invitations to several school events. The invitation has been noted.

98    Finance.
a.    Financial Statement for April 2024.
Resolved. That the Financial Statement for May be approved as a true record.
Proposed Cllr Cheetham.    Seconded Cllr Arden.   Carried unanimously.

b.    Clerk’s Salary & Expenses April 2024.            £198.98
Resolved. That the Clerk’s Salary & Expense be approved for payment.
Proposed Cllr Spink.    Seconded Cllr Goodacre.    Carried unanimously.

c.    Invoices for Payment May 2024.

 Gallagher Insurance.                        £732.04
Signs of the Times.                        £6822.00
Resolved.  That the invoice at 100.c be approved for payment.
Proposed Cllr Goodacre.    Seconded Cllr Arden.     Carried unanimously.
